There is no word as appropriate in this situation

So in case you haven't heard I was attempting the mighty feat of downloading a movie using dial-up internet. Harold and Kumar, right? Today it reached 510,367 of 712,995 Kb. Woohoo, ya'd think right? Break out the champagne right?

Then I accidentally clicked a button. That just had to be labled 'CANCELLED'.

Cameron Diaz was here

Celebrities, especially, need to learn to respect the concept of time. If you're slated for arrival at 6.45 pm, it does not mean that you show up, strolling oh-so-casually in at 7.30 pm. See, what happens when the person you're suppose to meet turns up late? You wait in a state of impatience, fidgeting and entertaining yourself through fondling your mobile phone. Hell yeah, you do. But with celebrities, you get the good fortune of being upset and impatient and fidgety while also being squashed in a sea of people, some who have the good fortune of not standing at 5'1''. And to top it all off, they will most probably have long hair. That swishes to and fro much to said 5'1'''s utter annoyance. C'est la vie, eh?

Anyway, I watched Red Eye with Cillian Murphy and Rachel McAdams. Quite a simple plot that was cleverly developed with strong leads and the creation of a tight, suspenseful atmosphere. My thoughts: If you thought Rachel McAdams was hot as a blonde, check her out as a brunette. She's quite pretty actually. And she did a good job of creating a balance between weak-sensitive-woman and strong-female-heroine. Much like Jessica Alba in Dark Angel. Although if that series was made into a Friends episode it'd be titled 'The One That Failed Miserably In Ripping Off Buffy HAHAHAHA'. Anyway, go watch if you have the chance. If only to find out another use of a ball-point pen. *Gulp*

I hereby state that the next foot I step in movie theatres will be for Serenity and Night Watch. Wooohooooo. Another of Joss Whedon's work!! The trailer... classic Joss Whedon humour. If you don't know who he is you live a sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad life. SAD. Just go kill yourself cause you'll never live down the embarassment man. Hee hee. :) Night Watch on the other hand is this Russian film which has one of the most kick-assest trailers I've seen in a while. I'm hooked. Wait.. I just thought of something. Alamak... Jangan-jangan another Agent Cody Banks incident. Movie Kakis' most brilliant moment. Lol. Hopefully you guys in Malaysia get to catch 'em both. Wooo hooo!

Alas, I am not a complete and massive failure. Yet. McDonald's called me back. Have got an interview on Monday. At either 2.15 pm or 2.30 pm. Damn it. I need to stop waking up to answer the phone while I'm sleeping. Also, I should make it a point to wake up before 12..
Hmmm. Wonder if they'll have a problem with 5 piercings?

Right. I woke up today with 4 piercings.

And tonight I go to bed with 5.

Blatant advertising: Conspiracy Chicks has been updated.

Seriously. Elektra isn't all that bad. Sure, halfway into the movie I was like "what's going on?" and when the plot finally untwisted, I was like "..."<--- Partly because I was dumbfounded by two things: i) that I couldn't believe I didn't see THAT coming and ii) the total and complete inanity of the lines and the utter failure at igniting any chemistry between the two leads and the horrible, HORRIBLE, attempts at humour and the fact that everyone in the movie unbelievably created new definitions to the term 'kayu' acting (Almost, but not quite quite, surpassing the ranks of David Boreanaz's Angel. EEEEKK.). Jennifer Garner's acting talents were completely wasted here, although I've gotta say her 'hot body' talents were fully utilized. The shot of her in the red leather costume probably earned her a new legion of pervy, male, comic-geek fans. But no. I still maintain that there have been worse. Elektra does not belong in the List of Horrible Movies That Will Make Porn Look Like The Most Brilliant Concept Ever.

For that, we have, in particular order;
1. Agent Cody Banks
1. A Cinderella Story
1. Crossroads
1. Any Rob Schneider flick where he's the lead. Ack.. The Animal, The Hot Chick.
1. Coach Carter
1. Daredevil
1. The Lizzie McGuire Movie
*List compiled after personal viewing. Yes, I watched The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Get over it.

And by the way, what the hell is up with Hilary Duff releasing a 'Greatest Hits' compilation? The album what, contains all of 2 songs? Ack! It's Mandy Moore all over again. At least I think Mandy Moore had more hits. At the top of my head, she's got;

1. Cry
2. Candy
3. errrrrrrrrrr........ Ooo. Crush.
4. let's not push it.

1. Fly
2. Why? Or What if? or Why Not? It was some kinda question.

Sigh. Music executives need to stop caring about the dough and force-feeding us with re-issued songs on a 'brand new' album. And they wonder why people are turning to downloading.

On other matters, I'm on break! For two weeks. Sweet? Would be sweeter if someone would call me back and tell me I'm hired. It's sad. Even McDonald's hasn't ring me back yet. According to Gill who has friends who work there, they take a while to get back to you. Damn. Australians don't understand or appreciate the concept of time. I don't even want to think what this makes me if I get rejected from McDonald's.

I went to watch Mysterious Skin just now. And it's this movie based on a book that deals with the consequences of pedophilia from the victim's point of view, if that makes any sense. One of them becomes a gay hustler and the other has the whole memory blocked out. It's pretty good. The audience wasn't subjected to multiple shots of sexual intercourse or anything like that (couple of butt shots but no dick shots) given the movie's theme, which I think gives it a certain sense of tastefulness. And the leads were pretty solid. Joseph Gordon-Levitt played the gay hustler and this other kid Brady Corbet (the elder brother in Thirteen, who was born in 1988, wtf?!) did a pretty good job as the blank memory kid. Highlight of the show: Joseph Gordon-Levitt. I forgot how hot he is. And the movie just cemented that fact. Bad me for forgetting!

If you can't tell already, I lead a boring life. I don't have a lot of things going on to expand on. Therefore I am not to blame for posting stuff like this up.

Did you know that the guy who played Lindsay Lohan's father in Mean Girls is the guy who plays the janitor in Scrubs?

Have you heard?

Coldplay is coming!!!!!!!!!!

So last night I was watching Rove Live, which is a Australian talk show program sort of emulating the Letterman/Leno/O'Brien style, and the interviewees for the night were Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland. They talked about the new album X&Y, which is freaking awesome in my not-very-humble-nor-bias opinion. Seriously. You'll hear all these guitar riffs and chord arrangements Coldplay has never played before, therefore proving that they are not a 3-chord band. For an example of that take a look at Busted. Prime example really.

Anyway, Rove (the host) goes, "Oh, so I hear you have something important to tell your Australian fans." [Heart starts thumping]

Chris Martin, "Yeah. We really like your Aussie chocolate." [DOH!]

Then after some inane yet highly entertaining conversation, they get to the point.

And the point is that Coldplay will be coming to Australia!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell I'm estatic? That's ten exclamation marks. And if that is not obvious enough I don't know what is. Sure there were some "OH MY GODs" and "WOOOOOOYEAHHHHHHHHHs" and lots of jumpings and squealings but really. Ten exclamation marks says it all.

Oooo. Before I forget. You know Big Day Out? I read the papers today and there was this very small article about that. Apparently next year's event will be held at Princes Park. Which is this park that's about 7 minutes away from where I stay (it's at that park you played football at, Nick). Can you say, "hell yeah!!!??"

Coldplay is coming!!!!!!!!!!

Also I watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the other day. And Freddie Highmore is such an effective actor. He can convey his emotions through his goddamn eyes! He probably could do that through his nostrils as well if he wanted to. Fooyohhh. Jessica Alba and Mandy Moore could learn a thing or two from him.

Coldplay is coming!!!!!!!!!!

So anyway, I was walking up the street the other day and this guy dropped a couple of pictures. Naturally, I just walked on and looked ahead. You see, the Chairman and I once were nice enough to help this guy pick up photos he dropped. And boy was that a huge mistake. The photos were off the err.. XXX kind. A girl was going down on a guy. And the guy who the pictures belonged to was like shoving the pictures at us going, "Yeah. And look at that picture what do you think of that?" Jesus Christ. Stupid comebacks that strike too late. We should have laughed and said, "Is that all? *cue sarcastic laughter* We've seen bigger." So really, sometimes the only way to be nice is to be not nice. And I don't know what the hell that means. So much for a punchy-not-nonsensical conclusion.

Right then. Technically, Coldplay is only coming next year. But hey. I choose to be excited. At this rate my heart will probably give out just before the concert starts. According to Chris Martin, the band will be coming early in the year, like February. If they come and I'm still in Costa Rica... Pfft. What are the odds? I would like to state for the record that mathematical geniuses need not actually calculate the odds and enlighten me.

Don't you just love it when...

Unexpected things happen? Of the good variety that is.

For instance, when you're looking at a particular poster and someone who sees you looking at the poster offers you a voucher for the movie? Purely from the goodness of their heart?
-Nice lady who gave voucher for The Take

Or when you don't know the name of the song and you randomly download one and it turns out to be the one that you were looking for?
-Stereophonics: Dakota

Or when you're feeling kinda tired and you get an unexpected letter from a friend?
-Addie! Thanks tons man!! :)

Or when you turn on the TV not looking for anything in particular and you end up finding a show you've been wanting to rewatch?
-Sweet Home Alabama. Ethan Embry..... even playing a gay he's still so cute.

Or when you go to JB Hi-Fi and find a DVD that you want to buy for a lower price?
-Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels and Dude, Where's My Car?

I have an idea. When is everyone free? We should set a time and a day to meet up on MSN and catch up. What do y'all think?

Take care Nick. And have a safe flight.

Whoops. I forgot about Malaysia's birthday. Eeks.
